A chaplet with ten beads, called a Tenner or in German, "Gebetskette Zehner" (prayer chain with 10 beads), was very popular in the 15th and 16th century.
This one has ten 10mm red bamboo coral beads connected with metal links. On one end, is a handmade pewter pendant with symbols representing St. Peter (Key to Heaven) and St. Paul (Sword - Defender of the Faith). Coral was believed to protect against lighting.
The other end has a small credo cross, a larger bead (a bead-capped slice of bamboo) and a ring with cord for hanging.
The overall length is approx. 12 inches not including the cord. The pendant measures approx. 2" in height.
Shipped in a velvet pouch.
A FREE Latin prayer booklet is included with each rosary purchase.
