The archangel, St. Raphael whose name means "Medicine of God" in Hebrew, is the patron saint of medical workers, travelers and the protector of sailors.
This paternoster has a 18mm saint's metal of St. Raphael on one end which is attached to an equal-armed onyx credo cross and then ten 10mm onyx round beads. The beads are connected with wire loops and have a metal ring with a cord for hanging from the belt on the other end.
Excluding the cord, this string of prayer beads measures almost 9" in overall length.
Shipped in a velvet pouch.
A FREE Latin prayer booklet is included with each rosary purchase.
We ship via USPS Priority Mail with insurance so that your package arrives in 2-3 days and you can track it on-line.
Also available with onyx beads and other saint's metals (see last 2 pics): St. Christopher or St. Raphael. Convo us is you want one of these instead of the St. Francis
TENNER - A chaplet with ten beads, called a Tenner or in German, "Gebetskette Zehner" (prayer chain with 10 beads), was very popular in the 15th and 16th century. They usually had a saint's metal, cross, pomander or tassel hanging from the bottom. Often an eleventh larger bead was added as well.
CREDO CROSS - The Apostle's Creed can be found in use as early as 6th century. By the end of the 12th century a decree was issued commanding the priests to urge the people to recite frequently the Lord’s Prayer, the Creed and the Salutations to the Virgin. The Creed was usually said on a cross form that was incorporated into the prayer beads and became known as the credo cross.
ONYX - Onyx is a stone of inner strength, focused attention, willpower, self-mastery, discipline and reason. It is a protective stone used in battles or conflicts of all kinds. It carries courage along with the "survival of the species" energy.
