The Order of the Pelican, it is one of the Society of Creative Anachronist Peerages. It is the highest award given in the SCA for Service to the Society.
A Pelican in her Piety is featured on this 3/4" Louisiana Civil War uniform button. It used on this cockade because blue cockades were worn in the 1860s by anyone who supported the southern cause.
Cockades are available in other colors as well. Chose your favorite color from the list.
The cockade is approx. 4" in diameter and has a felt backing. There is a bar pin on the back for attaching it to clothing, an arm band or cloth hat. CAUTION: The pin will not go through a felt hat without bending and possibly breaking. Please stitch your hat side up with thread or a thin ribbon and then attach the pin to the stitching. If you have one of our laced tricorn hats, just slide the bar pin through the "x" side laces.
