Love and Peace Chaplet - Black Onyx Paternoster Rosary with Relic Vial

Chaplets like this one were popular during the 15th and 16th centuries. They with made up of groups of four in a variety of numbers. These sets were separated by a larger bead or a bead with bead caps, sometimes both. They were circular in shape and were connected with a Saint's Metal, Cross, Pomander, Relic Vial or some other device of religious significance. In Germany at the Dommusium zu Salzbury there are a number of extant rosaries in this style.
Our version consists of 10-12mm faceted onyx beads in 5 sets of four beads that are separated by 16mm faceted onyx beads with bead caps and spacer beads. All are connected with wire links and a 32 x 12mm glass and metal container serving as a relic vial. Inside the container are the Latin words for "love" and "peace" (Amor and Pax) on a scrap of paper.
There is a rosary in the museum that has a vial like this with pieces of wood and a scrap of paper with the words "Tree to Heaven" in Latin which referenced the "True Cross". (See last 2 pics)
NOTE: We can make one that is hand strung with silk cord and knotted at the vial like the original. We chose the links for strength and for the modern mind that doesn't want knots showing! Just send us a convo if you want it closer to the original. We might even have clear crystal beads for paternosters! We can also put "Tree of Heaven" in Latin in the vial. Sorry, fresh out of pieces of the true cross!

NOTE: Many relics in period were fake as it was a popular joke that there were no tress left in the holy land because every crusader came home with a piece of the cross. Among many of the extant pendants with wood inside is one belonging to Charlemagne that is in the Cathedral Treasury, Rheims.
